Installing slackware packages

Slackware package thường sử dụng file .tgz, file này chứa chương trình đã được dịch trước. Vì vậy để cài đặt phần mềm trong Slackware bạn cần phải download gói Slackware về trước. Bạn có thể tìm thấy các gói mình cần tại : http://www.linuxpackages.net

Khi đã có gói bạn cần thì các bước cài đặt như sau:

- Sử dụng quyền root để cài đặt, nếu ko ở acc root bạn dùng lệnh su để chuyển sang root
- Cài một gói :
installpkg <packagename.tgz>
- Dỡ một gói đã cài
removepkg <packagename>
Trong Slackware cũng cung cấp 1 chương trình quản lý gói (package) là pkgtool.


Bạn dùng lệnh pkgtool để kích hoạt chương trình.
pkgtool
Ngoài ra, nếu bạn đã quen với trình quản lý gói debian apt-get như trên Ubuntu,... thì bạn có thể cài đật slapt-get trên Slackware, nó cũng có tính năng tương tự.

Đôi khi bạn không tìm được gói .tgz phù hợp bạn có thể convert từ gói RPM
rpm2tgz <packagename>.rpm
Ví dụ cài slapt-get:
